COMCAT Groups 1-3 + 5 Catering Appliances, as the titles suggest provides for what you’ll need to know in order to safely install, service and repair commercial ranges, water boilers (pressure and expansion types), deep fat & pressure fryers and forced draught burners. Broadly, the course covers the following knowledge areas.
- Checking the intended installation sites.
- The gas connection and supply pipes
- Securing the appliance correctly
- Ventilation requirements
- Tightness testing
- Gas rating & operating pressures
- Commissioning and testing the appliances
- Unsafe situations
- Other ‘site specific’ checks and tests
This assessment usually follows attendance on our Commercial Catering Training Day and can usually be completed within 2 days.
