Description

The Safe Isolation is a one-day course which includes training and assessment where people who are not electricians need to work on electrics. The course will teach and assess people to work safely and appropriately without putting themselves or others at risk of electric shocks or other problems. The course includes basic understanding of electricity, use of voltage meters and confirmation that circuits and cables are dead and safe on both single and 3 phase installations. On successful completion of an assessment which involves a practical test and short theory test the operatives will be issued with a BPEC accredited certificate. This course covers the mandatory requirement and beyond to prove competence for safe isolation that complies with Gas Safes TB 118 from July 2020. The course does not include the purchase of the necessary equipment all gas operatives will need after completion of this course.

Prerequisites

  • one of the following qualifications:
  • cert-ain Certification Gas Diploma (Gas Safety)
  • Domestic ACS CCN1
  • OFTEC 10-101
  • N/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in plumbing
  • N/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in heating and ventilating
  • N/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in gas installation/maintenance
  • N/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in oil-fired technical services
  • or equivalent
